[Resolved] Can I make text area box have it's own background?

  • I’ve recently ripped down my old website and am rebuilding one on my own with wordpress. I have some coding knowledge, but it’s very basic. What I’m trying to do is keep my wordpress site’s current background (a custom one), but be able to somehow make the text box area a slightly dark, somewhat see-through black, so that pages like my “about section” can seem to float above the main background. Otherwise, the posts are going to get lost in the background.

    Can someone tell me how to do this? Please take a look at my site to see what i’m talking about, or offer any suggestions. Thanks so much.

  • Try adding this to the end of style.css:

    .entry-content {
        background: none repeat scroll 0 0 black;
        opacity: 0.78;
        filter: alpha(opacity=78);
    }
