  • It might be a little big. But I think top-left is a good alignment. With that position, it’s the first thing that most people will see. Especially if you’re going to split your header space, and have both a logo and an ad, then I think the logo should go left, and the ad should go right, which is the way you have it now.

My concern would be that it takes an unusually long time to load, like ten seconds. I started to wonder if there was something wrong with it. I think it would work better if you could initially load just 1-2 screens worth of content, and load the rest only as needed. I don’t know what sort of engineering would make that happen, but I do think a faster load time would be to your benefit.

You could probably get away with it as is by moving it to the top of the page [screenshot], otherwise in its present position, it looks out-of-place and unbalanced.

Thanks for the feedback. I like the screenshot. Not sure how I would get the logo to be centred like you had it in the screenshot Andrew? Do you have any idea?

It depends on how you have your page structure. Support for that theme should be sought from that theme’s vendors http://www.kriesi.at/support/

    Hi there,

I think the position is OK. I would say that it doesn’t convey the company’s name quickly, unless you already know what the name is.

    Here are my initial thoughts:

    1. It’s too big for a header. You’re even forcing part of your slider below the fold for many screen resolutions. The result is valueless white space near the top.

    2. If you love that block look, you could keep the logo but perhaps have an alternate for the header. For instance, you use that for the favicon and other areas but for your header, you have something that’s more horizontal and real estate conscious.

    3. Your website’s URL is thebeholderseyes.com but the letters in your logo are behldrseyes (no “the”, “o”, or “e”). From a branding and marketing perspective, I would align them.

Thanks Gabe – really useful points. I am going to take a look at it again this weekend and probably make some changes. It’s all a learning curve for me at the moment. Thanks to everyone that has looked and feedback.
