Support » Plugin: File Away » Can I have flightbox enabled but disallow its use if the user is not logged in?

  • Resolved thewebcoder

I’m wondering how to disable flightbox from working if redirect=true, or if the user is a guest. So basically a guest can see the list, but if they click on a file to interact with it, flighbox doesn’t load, and it just redirects the user to login.

This plug-in is beyond outstanding. Thank you.

edit: I thought to try using showto / hidefrom, but can’t find a user permission for guest, or not Logged-in. Just a thought if there’s a way to make it work via multiple shortcodes. I.e. display one to guests, and a different one to logged in users.

You can do that using another plugin of mine, Eyes Only User Access Shortcode.

    [eyesonly logged=out][fileaway][/eyesonly][eyesonly logged=in][fileaway flightbox=multi][/eyesonly]

Another way you can do it with purely fileaway is:

    [fileaway hidefrom=”list,all,roles,here”][fileaway showto=”list,all,roles,here” flightbox=”multi”]

Edit: I may be mistaken about this. It’s been a while but it’s possible if you use either hidefrom or showto, I consider it “private” and exclude logged out people. But you can try it, and if it doesn’t work, use the Eyes Only solution.

    Thank you.

    Eyes Only Plug-In says:
    Requires: 3.3 or higher
    Compatible up to: 3.9.11

You think it’s safe with Version 4.4.2 of WP?

    Thanks again!

Yes, it still works in latest WordPress. I just haven’t updated the Readme file in a while.

Thanks again for your work on the plug-in and the active support. I’ll ask if we can donate.
