• Is it possible to have a network tier with a multisite instal?

    So for example:

    Main-site
    –network site (tier one)
    –network site (tier one)
    —-network site (tier TWO)
    —-network site (tier TWO)

(tried to represent it above using the list settings but I couldn’t make a list within a list)

So basically, i’m using sub-directories and my main-site is in the root, I’ve created a ‘network-blog’ in its own directory, can I then (from the ‘network-blog’) create a new ‘network blog’ by creating a new directory while already inside a directory. Gosh it was an effort explaining that!

  • No, you cannot nest URLs with multisite.

Not unless you want extra installations.

    How about this one?

I have my main URL myaddress.com, and within my hosting package, I can host as many URL’s as I want, which actually are sub-directories on myaddress.com. It is set up for multisite, but what I’m talking about below isn’t part of it.

So I have teamaddress.com pointing to my server, which is actually teamaddress.myaddress.com. Can teamaddress.com be a multi-site installation? The reason I ask is that I don’t have an .htaccess file in that directory to make the change. If I can, do I just make the .htaccess change on my main URL, or do I copy the .htaccess file to the sub-directory.

BTW…I plan on making my “network” sites at teamaddress.com as:
    teamaddress.com/2012
    teamaddress.com/2013
    teamaddress.com/2014
    teamaddress.com/2015
