Recently I’ve been trying to see if I can get wordpress content into another site that is on the same virtual host.
By this I mean, if wordpress was in a subdirectory of a site, would I be able to diplay the ‘articles’ and ‘archives’ in the main site without having it link back to the directory? I may not have explained that well.
I’ve tryed to do this a few times but all the times I have tryed resort to linking back to the original wordpress layout when I want the content to be diplayed in the main site i.e. When I click a link on the ‘archives’ panel on the main site, I want the new content to go into the ‘content’ box on the main site rather then going back to the wordpress.
Are you trying to have a ‘website’ but with blog content? You can possibly do that by using a ‘website looking’ template such as Cory Miller’s premium themes at http://www.ithemes.com (and there are many others).
For example, you install the theme (like you would any other) and you can have a static front page that looks like a website. You can also have a blog *AND* there are areas that you can pull just some ‘categories’ in like articles on pages, etc. I’ve bought a few of his themes and his support forum is exceptional. (I am not connected with his service–just a happy customer, LOL).
