I have created a very large SmartSlider, which works beautifully, but seems to be slowing down my entire site, probably because I didn’t properly compress all the images before loading them. Is it possible to embed this SmartSlider in another site, so that the images can exist there, but display on my main site? I’ve tried to export HTML and share the Slider, but I can’t find any code for embedding it or creating an iframe.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @suchurchill!

You can force our slider to load inside an iframe like this:
    https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/150-publish-on-wordpress#iframe
    so with this shortcode:
    [smartslider3 slider=4 iframe="loading"]
but that wouldn’t really help your case. The main problem is, that you have way too many slides, 45 with an image each on them, so 45 images have to load and that takes time, even if you are loading a slider inside an iframe. With this many images the only solution for you would be the Pro version of our slider, which has a lazy loading feature:
    https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/1163-slider-settings-optimize
With that feature you could make your slider to only load one image (or the number of images you want) and the rest would only load when they have to. Like this you could stop 44 images from loading.

Thank you! That shortcode wouldn’t work on another website would it? Wouldn’t the shortcode have to be embedded in the same site that includes the SmartSlider plugin and has all the images in the Media Library?

This shortcode would load the slider from this same website, but your site’s basic loading is quite fast, so it wouldn’t really matter wether or not you are loading the slider from another website or this one.
If you would want to load the slider from a completely different website, there could be problems with the sizing, as the slider adjusts itself to the page, so for example you would need to handle the height of the iframe with your own code. If you would still want to try it that way, you could export our slider with the Export as HTML option:
    https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/408-slider-options#exporthtml
which exports all the files you need. You just need to unzip it and upload it to the FTP of some website. Then you will be able to see the slider on the link of where you have uploaded it:
    http://example.com/slider/index.html

and you can embed that into an iframe:
    <iframe src="http://example.com/slider/index.html"></iframe>

But I really think it wouldn’t help, the size would be probably wrong too, so I wouldn’t suggest spending too much time on this. Loading many images is slow, no matter how you are doing it, this is why the only real solution is to load less images.

Thank you so much, even if the news is discouraging, you’re saving me time testing futile workarounds! I love this Plugin and your support is excellent, too!
