Twenty Ten 1.2 by the WordPress team? I downloaded the widget called drop down menu but then went to put it in the header bottom and there was no header bottom…just sidebar widget areas. So of course this won’t work with me using this for navigation! If this is not supported by my theme is there a way to change themes without losing all of the work I have done so far???Which is considerable!! Also if this is necessary are the themes Genesis and Thesis still available? Any help would be appreciated! Thank You!

  • I’m sorry – are you saying that you are using Twenty Ten ? If so, have you tried using Twenty Eleven?

Also if I switch menus will I lose all the work I have done??is there a way to transfer it into the new theme?? I was more interested in the Genesis and Thesis themes if they are still available!

What is your issue? Both Twenty Eleven & Twenty Ten have dropdown menus already.

if I switch menus will I lose all the work I have done

    Sorry? Switch menus how?

is there a way to transfer it into the new theme?

    No.

But Genesis & Thesis are still available.

sorry when I said switched menus I meant switch themes! So what i want is for the subpages to come out directly UNDER the page and not under and then over to the side! If I can do that on my current theme tell me how!

if you go to my wordpress site and press the search for homes tab you can see what I don’t want it to do!!

if you press on the sell a home tab that is the way I want it to show up!

    thanks for the help!!

That’s just a CSS issue. You could edit your current theme’s CSS – assuming it’s not the Twenty Eleven or Twenty Ten theme.

I can’t see any difference between those two dropdowns.

    Current Theme

Twenty Ten 1.2 by the WordPress team

so my question is if I am using the theme above what can I do to get my pages to drop straight down.
And this CSS issue does this have to do with coding on the html page?? this is my first try at web design and I only half way know what I am doing!

so my question is if I am using the theme above what can I do to get my pages to drop straight down.

The first level child pages do drop straight down.

And this CSS issue does this have to do with coding on the html page??

No – it relates to the theme’s stylesheet.

Don’t edit the Twenty Ten theme. Instead create a child theme for your customisations.

So my question is this. I am assuming that I am going to come across other thing on my theme that are not adequate for my needs. Would it just be better for me to just change to a different theme then it would for me to patch the currrent one? I do not know coding…css….rss…etc. I do not have time to learn them because I already work more then full time. I have figured out as much as I have by Youtube! Tell me the easiest way!

I’d suggest that you try looking for another theme.

So just a couple of more questions and then I promise to quit pestering you! Can you transfer everything from one theme to another when you switch??If so how? And the cost for the theme is that a yearly or a one time deal?? Thank you so much for helping me I realy appreciate it!! really! 🙂

Can you transfer everything from one theme to another when you switch?

Your site’s content is stored in your database and is unaffected by the theme. The only things you might have to set up again are custom menus & widgets.

And the cost for the theme is that a yearly or a one time deal?

    I’ve never seen any that weren’t a one-time deal.
