• What is the default flow of posts? I set up a new page called blog so it would be separate from other pages and I followed the instructions from the “Making your blog appear in a Non-Root Folder”. Where can I go in the codex for this? Do you have a flow chart?

  • Your pages, of course will serve “static” content for the most part. Posts will flow in chronological order as you write them. Each new one taking the place of the previous post at the top of the page you designated as your “blog” page. You can control the number of posts that exist on a single blog page from the “reading” settings in your dashboard. From there, once your maximum number of posts on your blog page is reached, your readers can use the older posts > | < newer posts links that generally appear at the bottom of each blog page to navigate forward or backward through (time) your posts. The verbiage will vary depending on the theme and style. I’m not sure if that was what you were looking for, but perhaps this page will shed some general insight on the features/differences between, and how to use a static page for your home page, while assigning a different page for your posts.

Here is a good screen-shot of the Reading Settings panel where you can choose a static “home” page and your Posts page.
