Can I add posts to portfolio?

  • So, I have thesis and am thinking of ditching it for a standard wordpress theme…standard=paid for (not free).

The themes I am looking at have nice portfolio pages and I would really like to organize my content in that way. Meaning, I would like to have my “posts” on the blog page AND on the portfolio page for ease of navigation. I read something from a few years ago and it sounded tricky to do. Is it? Or have things evolved where it would now be “easy”?

The theme I am considering is http://themeforest.net/item/udesign-wordpress-theme/full_screen_preview/253220

    Thanks.

    Jennifer

Not sure I fully understand your question but it may be better to use a custom post type for your portfolio posts then they will be separate from your regular blog posts and can be displayed on their own page.

Or, like you say – to have them on both pages (as in the default blog page which lists all of your latest posts AND a dedicated portfolio page), you could just add posts for your portfolio to a ‘portfolio’ category and display them differently using a custom template for that particular category:

But if you were to buy a theme with pretty portfolio pages built in this work will all be done for you.
