Support » Plugin: PublishPress Capabilities » Can I add capabilities to Capability Manager?

  • Resolved wilcox

Have created a role with Capability Manager Enhanced (CME). I would like to give this role the capability to backup (but not restore) the site using my preferred plugin, Updraft Plus. Currently I must enable ‘manage options’ which gives the role total access to all Updraft functions (and many others), including Restore and Changing Settings. The CME plugin allows granular control of many Woo Commerce and Events Manager capabilities. Is there a way to add the selection of capabilities available in other plugins to the CME management IF?

Any capabilities added to the Administrator role via the “Add Capability” sidebar will become available checkboxes for other roles.

I see that I can create a capability “name” using the “Add Capability” block in the sidebar, and that name dutifully appears in the list of Additional Capabilities. But how is that name connected to the capability itself? Does one modify your plugin to include the actual capability?

This plugin is only involved in the storage of capability settings to a role definition. Implementation of a capability is up to the relevant code package – either WordPress core or another plugin or theme. So you’ll have to take up the issue with them.

    Got it.
