Hello. Today, we are looking for a way for us to make a second shop page..

We sell figured wood, so we have a shop page where you can shop by purpose.
We’d also like a shop page where you can shop by wood species
(rather than filters or anything like that)

Any way to implement this type of thing?

WooCommerce has one default “shop” page – but there are plenty of ways to show your products!

If you’d like to shop by wood species, I’d recommend making a category for each species. You can link directly to a product category page and it will show all products in that category. You can then put that link into a menu, for example.

Here’s some more information about how to handle product categories:
    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/managing-product-taxonomies/

Hey Hannah, so the issue with that is that we have four ‘parent’ categories, within those are sub categories but some do not have subcategories and after you’ve gotten thru the ‘purpose’ of the wood so to speak, you have to choose a species.

    Basic examples our our shop:
Shop > Slabs > Live Edge Slabs > Madrone
Shop > Guitar | Instrument Blanks > Redwood
Shop > Pen Blanks > Stabilized > Acrylic Stabilized > Buckeye Burl

So we have 10+ species in each category of wood and like 24 categories including child categories and we also have hundreds of products so it would take too much work to implement that. Do you know how to implement the woocommerce shop into the child theme or if there’s legit info on it online? I am an intermediate dev and If I have to do a hard task, it may as well just be one really tricky task that i’ll never need to deal with again like implementing a second shop with php or whatever instead of the annoying task of making filters for hundreds of products or making like 10 species of wood and 30 categories of wood in reverse of of the shop page i’ve already setup. Plus i kind of feel like that’s a band-aid / duct tape fix
because we have a drop down shop button on our menu bar and there’s two options,
“Shop by purpose and “Shop by species” so i’d like to just have another shop to build a “shop by species” type shop and never need to deal with it again.

I understand what you mean about not wanting to have to go in and update!

However, I also think it’s getting more complicated than it needs to be. Each of these product category pages (product archive template) are built up dynamically. Using the **WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Display** settings usually covers this need, no matter how many categories you have:

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

yeah i guess so. i just had to manually added in those 20+ catagories in reverse so it’s fixed
