    Hello Plausible

My client has been using Plausible with the WordPress plugin on their site for a few months. It’s been working great.

We’d like to start tracking file downloads. I see instructions here on how to add the correct script to the site: https://plausible.io/docs/file-downloads-tracking

Can the file-download feature be added or managed with the WordPress plugin? Should I just remove the plugin and add the script to the site header manually?

    thanks,

    Clare

Hi Clare and glad to hear your client is enjoying Plausible!

We’re currently working on the next version of our plugin and in this new version, the main new addition will be a proxy on by default.

The subsequent release after that would then also incorporate all the different extensions including file downloads into the plugin. We plan to allow you to select which extension(s) you need directly in the plugin settings.

So basically the plan is to introduce file downloads into the plugin but it may take a little bit longer as there’s a lot of work to do while we’re a small team with limited resources.

In the meanwhile, we did release a little guide on how you can use different extensions alongside our plugin. See https://plausible.io/docs/script-extensions-for-wp-plugin

    I hope this helps, thanks!
