• I was told that I was hacked.

    My website is frankyuyan.com

If so, what steps should I be taking? This came up apparently when I was posting about another question: why I couldn’t embed videos pasted below:

I am desperately in need of a solution to the problem. I just installed buddypress on my wordpress blog: frankyuyan.com

Whenever I go to embed a video (I copy the embed code from youtube), it shows page not found on my blog’s post. If I hyperlink to the page, it strangely places my site’s URL in front of the link, which when clicked results in another error message.

Is there anyway to resolve this issue? I have the webpage with the problem here:

    http://frankyuyan.com/the-blenz-coffee-guy-on-success-his-inspiring-speech

The video I am trying to embed is the following:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2eBGF_j7S4I%E2%80%9D

    [No bumping, thank you.]

A scan of your site with Sucuri Sitecheck shows no malware.

How are you embedding the video?

I just use the regular embed feature, where I copy and paste the code from youtube, and stick it right into the HTML version of the page. It use to work fine, until after I installed buddypress, and then whenever i use the standard method, it creates an iframe and then says file not found.

Is there some settings in buddy press that I am not aware of that could be doing this?

Even if I just hyperlink to the youtube video, it adds: frankyuyan.com”YOUTUBE LINK” to the youtube link…as you can see here:

You were told you were hacked because of the base64 junk that is in the image src of Arnold. It looks like you are hotlinked to the image which normally is not a good thing to do.

If you do have permission to use the image or it is not protected, save it to your desktop and then use wp’s image uploader to add it to your media library.

Ah I see. okay I will change that. Any clue on the embedding problem?

I think there is something wrong with the URL that you show for the video. I inserted these two lines into a post:

    [embed width="600" height="400" ]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2eBGF_j7S4I%E2%80%9D[/embed]

    [embed width="600" height="400" ]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2eBGF_j7S4I[/embed]

The first one shows the URL, the second one shows the video.

If I type the first URL into the browser address bar and hit enter, the video plays, but the address bar shows only the second URL.

so I inserted both of your links directly into the HTML page of my webpage. Neither of them load. The first one, if I hover over the link, it shows this:

    http://frankyuyan.com/”http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2eBGF_j7S4I””

the 2nd again shows the iframe of my site saying site not found.

I wonder if its in the settings of my wordpress blog, any idea where it could be that’s causing it? It seems to want to access the video through my webpage instead of youtube directly.

Check your settings under Settings->Media to see if embeddings are checked.

    Thread Starter Vahn Manx

    (@misc86)

Yes, auto embedding is checked. Do I need to specify a max embed size?

    (@vtxyzzy)

Don’t know for sure, but won’t hurt to try. Set both width and height.

nope, it has to do with showing my website URL in front of hyperlinked and embedded videos. Man, this is annoying.

First, switch themes to one of the unmodified WP Twenty… themes to make sure it is not a theme problem.

If it is not a theme problem and you are running the latest WP version, try reinstalling WP by going to Dashboard->Updates and clicking ‘Reinstall Now’.

If neither of those finds/fixes the problem, try disabling all plugins.
