Hi @marteens,
It is not possible out of the box, but this has been requested by others, and we are looking at creating a separate plugin to do this, but it is not that easy.
To get this working now, you will need a form plugin which allows public image uploading. That plugin will have to write images to the media library. Those entries then need to be linked to a gallery, but that is not a simple thing and will require some custom code depending on the plugin used for uploads.
There are some considerations when you allow visitors to upload images. You would need to be able to moderate images, so that your galleries do not contain unwanted images.
Hi @bradvin
Thank you, I appreciate the quick reply.
I’m not sure if I have the coding-skills needed for the solution you are suggesting, so for now I guess I’ll just use a separate plugin for uploading, and then I’ll move the images manually to the gallery. It’s not ideal, but it will do for now 🙂
I hope you decide to go forward with the uploading-plugin you are talking about, that would be great! You definitely have my vote on that 😉
Another vote for this plugin please. Rather than allowing anyone to upload images I would only want members of the site to have that ability.
Hi @colinsp
Your feature request has been noted and forwarded to the development team.
However, I can’t offer any guarantees about if and when it might happen as we already have an extensive list of new features in our development pipeline.
Thanks for the feedback though.
Kind regards,
Elvis.
Elvis thanks I won’t hold my breath and will see what I can code. I have the form upload to the media gallery working fine just need to get it into the album.
