• Hello. I’m quite new to wordpress, and i just want to try it out.
Well.. When i’m trying to set up the wordpress, it comes up with an error message, and i cant seem to find a anything about it.

    “Can’t select database
We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password are fine) but not able to select the wordpress database.

    Are you sure it exists?
Does the user username have permission to use the wordpress database?
On some systems the name of your database is prefixed with your username, so it would be like username_wordpress. Could that be the problem?
If you don’t know how to set up a database you should contact your host. If all else fails you may find help at the WordPress Support Forums.”

have contacted your host about it?

    Hi,

Open your database -> wp_options table and check site_url(page 1) and home_url (page 2) whether it is according to your site or not. If this not resolve your problem then open wp-config.php file and check database name and password.

check whether extra spaces are there when giving db name, username, password etc in wp-config file
