  • Really like the MC plugin and in fact I show it to all my WP students.

Is there a way to easily configure the plugin so that I could have more than one list? The easy answer seems to be “no” which is a shame as many people have more than one DB they are building on MC.

  • Hey Trynet,

Thanks for writing in to the forum, and glad to hear that you’re spreading the word! It’s much appreciated. 🙂

The plugin currently only suports being connected to one list at a time, so it does not support capturing sign ups to multiple lists at this time.

Some alternatives that I would suggest:
-Consider using groups. Groups allow you to add some additional options to your sign up form, so in addition to signing up to your list, subscribers can also select which group within the list they’d like to be a part of. This can a lot of the time remove the need for separate lists, since it allows you to maintain affiliations within a single list so that you can segment and send to different groups.

This article goes into a bit more depth in that here:
What are groups and why would I want to set them up?:

-If you require different sign up forms going to different lists, then you may consider using the MailChimp Embed Code, rather than the plugin. Using the embed code would mean grabbing the HTML embed code from each of your separate lists in your MailChimp account, and adding them to your website’s different pages. So, while it’s very much a manual process, it would be able to accomplish different pages with different sign up forms, to different lists. If you go this route, make sure to use Super Slim, Classic Form with JS disabled, or the Naked Form.

If you have any questions in the mean time, just let us know!
