I’ve started getting a fatal error which prevents the creation of the event feed – which I’m importing onto three other sites using the ical sync plugin.

Fatal error: Call to a member function format() on boolean in /x/x/x/www.xxxxxxxxxxxxx.xx/wp/wp-content/plugins/event-organiser/templates/ical.php on line 61

Three other identically configured sites are functioning normally so I’m suspicious that perhaps a mis-formed event may be the cause.

No recent edits on any of the templates and there are over 1K events on the calendar which should be on the feed.

Any assistance appreciated.

Hi gamenzie,

This can occur if there is an event without any dates.

This shouldn’t generally be possible (although can happen). A check which omitted such events from the feed was removed in 3.1.1 because it was no longer necessary. However, some changes were reversed prior to 3.1.1, and that check became potentially necessary again. It’s being re-instated in the 3.1.2 release but you can fix this immediately by editing template/ical.php and add these lines: https://github.com/stephenharris/Event-Organiser/commit/9f705a4cad476b18e28674eaf485e932da1ef0b1
