I’m very happy with Events Organizer so far but recently I tried to add a three day event and the calendar doesn’t want to display it as such.

I’ve entered the start of the event as 05/09/2014 at 7pm and the end date as 07/09/2014 at 5pm, i.e. the event is happening Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

For some reason though, once I publish the event the calendar widget only adds links to it on September 5th and 6th, not the 7th. I am using the twenty-ten theme.

I suppose I could fix this by just changing the event’s end date to 08/09/2014 since the end date is not normally displayed anyway, but there has got to be a better way?

    Thanks!

Have you selected to show “long events”? If not then only the start date of an event (Sept. 5) will be linked to. (I suspect that the link on the 6th refers to another event).

If you do select to show “long events”, then every day the event is running is linked to (5th, 6th and 7th).

Hi Stephen, thanks for the quick reply.

Unfortunately “show long events” is enabled in the calendar widget. There is no separate event on the 6th, just the single three-day event that should span the 5th, 6th, and 7th.

For now I’ve just changed the end date to the 8th and that has given me links to the event on the 5th, 6th, and 7th. But obviously it is a little confusing.

Ah, having revisited the source code I can see the bug. It’ll affect any non-all-day (long) event where the start time is after end time (7pm and 5pm respectively in this case).

I’ll issue an update shortly to fix this.

Thanks so much! I’m glad you were able to figure it out.

I’m a bit of a newbie to all this so pardon the seemingly simple question but will this future update to the plugin be something I have to apply manually before it takes effect?

No, once an update is released you should be able to update the plug-in from the Plug-ins page or the Updates page (under Dashboard).

The calendar is cached, so you may find that you need to update an event to reset the cache.

    Thanks!

    Marking this as resolved.
