Calendar widget

We have a calendar widget on a website that we are developing. You can see it in the screenshot here:

The dates on the calendar should link to the details of the event taking place on that date. There should also be a list of the upcoming events below the calendar.
What we’re trying to work out is if it is possible to set up this functionality using this plugin?
Any guidance on how to implement this would be useful.
