  • Hi privacyguru. Thanks for the note, and apologies for our delayed response. I’m the only person who really monitors these forums and, since we slowed down for the holidays and are just picking up steam again now, this is the first chance I’ve had to review the forum and get you an answer.

Have you tried resaving your permalinks, after installing the plugin? Assuming you’ve got pretty permalinks enabled (something like /%postname%/), all you’d need to do is resave the permalinks page without making any changes. Sometimes that can resolve this issue right off the bat.

If not, you should confirm that your events slug – /events, by default – isn’t conflicting with another page, post, etc that might also live at /events.

If none of the above do the trick…it sounds like this isn’t a plugin conflict, but I would be interested to hear if it is a theme conflict (that can be tested by deactivating the theme and switching to the Twenty Eleven or Twenty Twelve theme, temporarily, to see if the issue persists).

Let me know where that gets you and I can try to troubleshoot as needed from there. Thanks for your patience and support so far.

    Hi Roblagatta,

Thanks for the response. No matter what I change the slug to, that new calendar URL re-directs to the homepage. I tried changing the permalinks to each type available via WordPress, so that didn’t work either. I’ve gone through all the issues regarding redirects here and none of them seem to include my issue. The event pages display just fine. It’s just the calendar page that redirects to the homepage.

I am not a developer and don’t code, but my roommate who does said this might be interesting to you to illustrate the problem:

I’ll try changing the theme – though I’ll need to make sure everything’s backed up first. I’ll get back to you on that one. By the way, I’m using the Simplicity theme by WooThemes.

Also, I just updated the new version of the plugin and that didn’t resolve the issue.

Hi there privacyguru. Alright, thanks for confirming. This one is getting to be a bit outside my area of expertise, so I’m going to ask Jonah from our dev team to take a look and respond here.

Any luck on the theme testing, back on Twenty Twelve or Twenty Eleven? That’d be huge to have on hand when Jonah jumps into this. Thanks in advance.

    Hi privacyguru,

Do you have anything in your .htaccess file besides the typical WordPress stuff that could be redirecting? Or, anything setup through your host that could be triggering the redirect? If you want I can take a quick look but I’ll need FTP and wp-admin access. You can email that to pro [at] tri [dot] be attn. to me and reference this thread.

Aside from that it’s going to be hard to troubleshoot…

    Hi privacyguru,

I never heard back from you on getting the access I requested. Did you figure it out on your end or do you still need help? Just trying to tie up loose ends.

    Cheers,

Hi Jonah, somehow I missed your last message. I will send you log-in info later in the day. I do appreciate your offer to take a look! I am not sure about the htaccess file. I’m traveling for the day, but will check.

    Thank again!
    Debra

I had this problem yesterday, with the second event I posted. After trying the things that Debra tried, I ended up recreating the event. It worked properly after that.

    Hi Debra,

Thanks for sending me your login information. Sorry for my delay in getting a chance to check things out. I just tried your wp-admin login and it’s not working. Did you still need help with this issue?

    – Jonah
