calendar stuck as home page

Originally I set the calendar to the home page. My client did not want the pro version so i simply changed the setting in the settings – reading section to point to the calendar.

My client wants a new home page design and now wants to remove the calendar. simply enough. Here is my problem. No matter what I set as the home page the calendar it keeps redirecting to the calendar.

I’ve scoured wordpress, settings, events, etc. and can not locate anything that would be doing this – please help. Worst case scenario we delete the calendar and go with another product. I’ve got too much time invested and data populated to want to do that and i like the plug in – is it buggy? Am I missing something?
