[Resolved] Calendar has disappeared

  • The page where the entry was simply shows [my_calendar]. There is no admin panel any more, and there was briefly a message when in the plugins link stating something like “error with Calendar plugin” – I can’t replicate the error. Website is brontecamperhire.co.uk and the plugin has been working fine for 2 years.

Sounds like the plugin is deactivated. First, what happens if you attempt to reactivate it ( exact message), and second, what version is installed.

The plugin was the latest version. There is no My Calendar showing at all in the dashboard to reactivate. I tried to reinstall, but target folders are in place so his wasn’t allowed. Version is (was!) 2.0.10.

It’s not even showing in the plug-ins list? Well, that’s odd. I’d guess that means that you got a bad download; that happens rarely, but if there was something that went wrong in the HTTP communication with the repository, it could have gotten corrupted. You’ll need to delete it manually (you can do that via FTP, or should have a mechanism provided by your hosting service), then reinstall.

    Best,
    Joe

Remember I said it had been working fine, and there are many existing calendar entries, so if I manually delete the folder via ftp and re-install, won’t this mean that all those entries will be lost,or will My Calendar find he existing entries in the database?
    Thanks for your help.

If you manually delete the folder all of the event entries will be retained – no problem. The data is all stored in the database, which you won’t be touching.

    That fixed it thankyou!!!!
