I have 3 Google Calendar feeds set up on my client’s site. It seems to pull in only some of the events correctly and ignores others.

For example, I hit refresh on one of the feeds and it tells me it has imported 165 events. I go to my events list and there are only 28 events.

I’m going to send my feed URLs to data@time.ly as suggested in similar threads.

I hope that you’ve also been able to look into my other issue?

I really like your plugin and had very high hopes for it initially as it should be perfect for my client, who are a really small charity. Unfortunately I’ve come up against a number of issues with AI1EC over the last few weeks and if I can’t deliver the site to a good standard I’ll have to start looking at other solutions for the calendar feeds.

  • I saw the same thing. I ended up having to delete the feed and add it back.

I tried refresh as well as edit/update and it showed it had imported the correct number, but the events list only showed a subset.

IF you find another calendar, please post the name. I’m starting to feel the same way about the ai1ec calendar being reliable and current as far as the data it displays. What’s the use of a nice looking calendar if you can’t trust it to be accurate and timely (no pun intended)!

These feeds are supposed to auto-update from the time.ly side w/o user interaction… why should anyone need to manually refresh, unless they need to out jump the standard refresh rate? What good would that system be, if a human had to interact multiple times to solve a simple problem?

I am having the same problem – feeds not updating, I tried deleting & adding it back, I tried refreshing. Crazy frustrating! I have used AE1EC on multiple sites previously with no issue, what is happening?

The interesting thing is that this was a solid product up until around three weeks ago… and then suddenly they imploded… like they were all struck down by some vengeful deity.

I was joking with a friend that in my thirty years in IT, I have never seen a company go from so good to imploding in such a short period of time.

Is anyone left alive? Its just too bad. Personally, I’m already engaging the other main calendar competitor. I don’t wish these guys any bad feelings, but as a consumer, the pooch has been screwed.

@cbhtcomputers – I’m in the early stages of testing out simplecalendar.io on my client’s site. Doesn’t look like I’ll be needing the premium version at the moment as it seems to be working well and looks fine for my client’s needs. Worth a bash if you’re looking to try something different.

The only thing I miss compared to AI1EC is allowing users to switch the calendar view on the front end. But that particular feature has never worked correctly for me anyway (refuses to load my custom calendar theme templates) so perhaps I won’t miss it that much after all. I have a support thread open for that issue too (link is in my original post), but still no reply so unfortunately I’ll have to move onto a different solution.

I’ve had email contact from Time.ly and there should be a solution to this issue (missing events) in the next update.

I am having the same issue. I subscribed to my calendar to google. I see it on the google calendars. But, I see only like 20% of the events? Some days of the week are not present and some days some a few events?

    Strange.

I have an older version on one site that still updates just fine. The current version, however, hasn’t refreshed a google feed in over 24 hours.

good to know. I am hoping it is fixed soon. I wanted to show my client the feature, but luckily we have other defects to work on. lol…

    Hi all.

About the feed refresh, it may take some time to refresh on the API side (up to 1 hour) and we are working to improve it.

Then, the feeds are refreshed every hour on the calendar side (as defined in the WP cron jobs – the hook name is ai1ec_cron).

At this moment, summing up, it can take up to 2 hours to have all feeds refresh correctly.

    Thanks!

Like a doof, I updated to the most recent version – after finding that my ics feed was not updating properly. Low and behold, on the Events –> Import Feeds –> Feed Subscriptions page I see the message: “You don’t have a subscription for this feature”.

I don’t begrudge a developer for wanting to monetize his work and am grateful for the WordPress plugin development community … however, this is a pretty crummy way to generate business.

Finding a replacement from a more ethical business – even at a greater cost – seems to be time.ly

John Donovan, that’s a bug, we don’t limit to paid subscriptions the import feeds. But we did add subscription support. I’ll get a colleague follow-up with you here …
