Support » Plugin: The Events Calendar » Calendar events have no titles, just bullets

  • I’ve just started working with my calendar and was able to create plenty of events but they don’t show in the calendar itself. The date is highlighted and there’s a large black bullet on days where there’s an event. I’m trying to achieve a calendar with a list of events on any given day, not a bullet.

I’m relatively new to WP but I’ve gone through the beginner primer and tried using Appearance–>Customize to find the solution but I’m still at a loss.

Maybe it’s fighting with my template?
    Thanks for any help!!

    Hi @laligolightly

Test how your /events page looks when you change these settings: Events » Settings » Display »

Default stylesheet used for events templates

    & Events template.

    display templates

Also it looks like your default view is displaying in mobile mode. That is unexpected behavior. Does this happen when you disable other plugins and/or use a default theme, such as Twenty Seventeen https://wordpress.org/themes/twentyseventeen/?

    Thanks
    Courtney 🙂

I am also having the same problem on my website with the bullet points. I, too, would like the calendar to display the text of the event within the day.

    My page is at http://www.jeffersonparkforward.org/calendar/

    Thanks, Ryan

    Hi @laligolightly,

The width of the calendar in your site is 705px while the breakpoint to change the calendar view from desktop to mobile is 768px, so the best way to achieve what you want is by modifying your style.css file to change the width or override the calendar CSS file to change the media query breakpoint.

@rjrich17, as I can see from here you calendar is already working as expected but for future reference, if your calendar displays in mobile view on desktop/tablet screen sizes, this issue is normally associated with concatenation, which is automatically performed by some WordPress caching and optimization plugins.

You will find detailed information about this issue and how to solve it here.

    I hope this helps!

    Cheers,

    Patricia

Thank you all for the replies. @patriciahillebrandt Changing style.css is beyond my pay grade (i.e. I’m too new to website building to know how to do that just yet) but thanks for that, I’ll research to see if I can figure how to change it.
Also we have just evacuated from the northern California wild fires in Napa so I’m unable to really look too deeply at this at the moment but will come back in a week or so and try to work on it.
Thank you again for the help.

    Hi Lali!

I’m sorry to hear about your situation with the fires. I hope you were not much affected by them.

Let us know if you need further help with that.

    Best wishes,
    Victor
