Support » Plugin: Events Manager » Calendar creates hundreds/thousands of links

  • Resolved Martin Wedepohl

I’m using the monthly calendar view to display events.

I only have events from the end of 2018 and 2019, but when searching the links on our site there are links up to 2061 (possibly beyond). This has created issues with our new SEO company who wants to charge us based on 3000+ pages on our site where most are blank pages with no content since they are for a year far in the future or far in the past.

Is there a way to limit the number of links that the plugin creates … seems like you can go on forever.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Yes … it is set to 3, but the issue isn’t the number of events on a day it is the links to the previous and next months on the full calendar … you can keep on clicking and they will go on forever.

I have solved it by creating my own calendar-full.php template in my theme and modified the php code to limit the number of months for the prev/next arrows to current month – 1 month as a minimum to the current month + 13 months for a maximum.

The issue was found with a link checker that kept on clicking the next link until it hit the maximum number of links that it would check. An SEO company also said that since we had over 10,000 pages (most fictitious calendar links) it would be an extra charge to look at our site … we actually have about 500 pages when you remove the prev/next calendar links.
