Title: Calculating VAT incorrectly Last modified: August 22, 2016 --- # Calculating VAT incorrectly * Resolved [Luis Martins](https://wordpress.org/support/users/lmartins/) * (@lmartins) * [11 years, 7 months ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/calculating-vat-incorrectly/) * Hi, * Im using WooCommerce subscriptions and have noticed that with that plugin the menu item inserted by WooCommerce Menu Cart display the price incorrectly. * My store is configured to include VAT in the inserted values, so in the cart the VAT is deduced from the original price and then added back on the cart totals. Older versions had a bug that causes this but it was fixed in 1.5.10. The fix that Jeremiah mentioned is in the WooThemes plugin. * I did see that subscriptions is showing the correct values in your screenshot, but in that same screenshot, subscriptions is also showing the wrong values: in the menu cart. Subscriptions alters the way the totals and prices are displayed, and this needs to be done at several levels. It looks like your settings do not come through correctly, but there’s nothing the menu cart can do about that. The cart totals show: * 28.46€ now then 28.46 / month (ex. VAT) VAT Standard 6.54€ / month Order Total: 35.00€ / month * On menu cart it says: 28.46€ now then 41.54 € / Month * The incorrect value is 41.54€. The “then” value is getting VAT added 2 times. Therefor it’s not possible for the Menu cart to modify or recalculate anything (unless you strip out the numbers from the text and then replace them with new values): there is no ‘first’ and ‘second’ value to the menu cart. That’s what I meant to say when I wrote that Subscriptions is outputting the wrong values. * Please contact WooThemes about this, as this is really not something that we can influence.
