Support » Plugin: PPOM for WooCommerce » Calculates amount incorrectly when used with Mulitcurrency

  • Hi, I love the package but when I use it with the villatheme multicurrency plugin it seems to add the currency exchange twice, significantly inflating the price. To reproduce, simply use the attached link, add the part to your cart and then change from USD to CAD using the right hand currency widget.

Update: And of note I have now tried two different currency plugins from different vendors and both act exactly the same.

    Thanks,

    Rick

    Hi @rickbase1,

    did you try: https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-currency-switcher/

we have added support for above currency switcher.

    Great, that fixed it!

BTW, I was trying to use it with the Villathemes currency plugin.

    Thanks,

    Rick

Looks like I spoke too soon.

After some testing, if I proceed through the whole checkout process the price is indeed correct, but if I use the Paypal Smart checkout button from the cart or individual product, I still get a doubling of the exchange rate.

The paypal plugin I am using is:
    https://woocommerce.com/products/woocommerce-gateway-paypal-checkout/

And interestingly, when the cart updates the price when changing currencies, it first doubles the exchange, then recalculates it correctly on a second pass.

I really need the Paypal Smart buttons, so anything you can do would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Rick

    Hi Rick,

Paypal direct calculating price for product total to send their checkout page, we cannot handle this in our PPOM. Unless Paypal direct checkout plugin handles this to calculate our options and send into their system.

I am really in this regards,

woocommerce paypal plugin is soon going to be depreciating normal checkout buttons and will be using “Smart buttons” exclusively. Here is their message alert in WP:

PayPal Checkout with new Smart Payment Buttons™ gives your customers the power to pay the way they want without leaving your site.

The existing buttons will be deprecated and removed in future releases. Upgrade to Smart Payment Buttons in the PayPal Checkout settings.

Please upgrade your plugin as soon as possible to work with this feature.

    Thanks in advance.
