i am trying to get rid of unnecessary files on my server to save space. i see a folder named ‘cages’ and in it is a ‘tmp’ folder and within that there are thousands of ‘.xcloner-00###’ folders. the few i checked were empty but there were a few with a .log file.
    are these necessary?
    can i delete them?

    thanks!

Yes, you can delete them without problems.

thank you for the prompt reply

Hi @liuta I have exactly the same problem even my hosting has stopped my website from working for several hours because I am hitting internal limits due to XCloner temp files filling up what they call iNodes.

Can you incorporate to the plugin a way to remove these TMP files automatically to avoid these type of issues? Thank you for your help!

Please try and reinstall the latest version of xcloner, i have added some fixes which would decrease total the number of files created, seems the issue might be caused by the internal logger.

Xcloner does clean all the temporary files created older than 1 day if a scheduled backup is being run within that time and finishes ok.

Also, try and switch off the xcloner logging, that would help most probably faster.
