Caching problem with random button

    Hello.
    I have a random post button on my site for quite a while which worked for me since I created it. I recently installed w3 total cache. I now noticed that if you click the button, at first it works, but then if you click it again it brings you to the same post over and over. I guess this is page cache ? Anyway, is there a way to fix this ?

    I am sorry about the issue you are experiencing and I am happy to assist you with this.
    Can you please share where is the button you are referring to (I cannot find it)?
    Please provide a screenshot or specify the location.
    Does the issue persist if you purge the cache?

    Hi, the button is at the sidebar, after the search form. It is a red/pink button with an explore title.

    Hello @davil2008

    Thank you for the information.
    The problem is that the page is cached, and now it’s showing the last page that was visited.
    Can you please go to Performance>Page Cache, Scroll down to advanced and add /random to “Never cache following Pages” field, save all settings and purge the cache.
    See if te issue persists.

    Sorry, I currently don’t have access to my computer, but I will try this as soon as I come home !! Anyway, doing this won’t have any affect on the caching of other pages ?

    No, the pages will be cached but you should not have the issue with always showing the same page.
