 * I performed this G search but didn’t find much about WP2 content caching specifically:

   [http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=site%3Awordpress.org%2Fsupport%2F+wp-cache&btnG=Google+Search](http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=site%3Awordpress.org%2Fsupport%2F+wp-cache&btnG=Google+Search)
 * On the WP2.0 plugin compatibility page:
    [http://codex.wordpress.org/User:Matt/2.0_Plugin_Compatibility](http://codex.wordpress.org/User:Matt/2.0_Plugin_Compatibility)
 * … it says this about WP-Cache:
    “No errors, but the actual caching doesn’t seem
   to work properly. Also, there are reported problems with PHP 5.”
 * Any suggestions?
 * I know there is a newfangled “object caching” in WP2, which sounds awesome.
 * But all I really want is less queries & *even* better performance on my 20+ WordPress
   2.0.1 installations. 🙂
 * FYI – we have about 15+ plugins enabled (I know this will slow things down somewhat),
   but each WP page seems to be generating ~ 100 queries and taking several seconds.(
   sometimes 5 to 10 plus)
 * Any suggestions would be mucho appreciated!!

 * WP-Cache is the way to go, definitely.
 * But, additionally you should look at what each query is coming from.. really.
   If you want to optimize, you need to know what the plugins are doing under the
   hood.

 * Hi David,
 * So is the comment on the WP Plugin Compatibility list incorrect?
 * “No errors, but the actual caching doesn’t seem to work properly.”
 * Have you gotten WP-Cache working on WordPress 2.0.1 ?
 * Thanks!

 * Well, WP-Cache has Windows-related problems, that I just worked around a few
   of… Once I got it enabled, it seems to be caching things properly.
 * However, I must admit I haven’t tested it extensively with newer WP, or with
   nice-URL permalinks enabled (htaccess rewrites). My WP2 test site seems to be
   properly caching requested posts and pages and the main index, though that’s
   all WITHOUT rewrite rules.
 * If you are running under Linux, you should be as functional with WP2 as earlier
   versions, I’d think. I haven’t seen enough of the reports of WP2 issues, but
   a lot of what I HAVE seen seems to also correlate with upgrading to PHP5 or other
   updates occurring parallel with the switch to WP2, making it confusing where
   issues are occurring.
 * My setup is Wampserver on WinXP.
    -php 5.0.2 -apache 1.3.33 -mysql 4.1.7 (I think)
 * WP code is 2.1alpha, trunk from day or two back. Can’t see it affecting things
   either way.
