• This is the only caching plugin I have used that caches backend URLs, including already published posts. Many times I’ve clicked on already published posts that I updated a day or two ago to add more updates, forgetting that what I am really opening is a cached version of the first published page. The result is losing edits I made when I click publish. Sometimes the clear cache option for those pages doesn’t work.

Plus, every good plugin should clear cache on static home pages when a new post is created. This doesn’t, and my website publishes several times a day. It also doesn’t play nice with CDNs, particularly Cloudflare.

Installed this because its lightweight, but the extra work it brings is just not worth the lower server load. A great plugin, but maybe for mostly static sites that do not publish/update often. The backend caching is also annoying.

By default the Cache Enabler plugin won’t cache pages for logged in users. This means there must be an issue on your website that is causing this. In case you’re not aware, the support threads are a great place to start troubleshooting. There have been similar issues that have been opened and resolved. You can also open a new thread to receive support.

By default the Cache Enabler plugin will clear the cache of the home page when a new post is published. You can extend this in the Cache Behavior setting.

The Cache Enabler plugin has no issues with content delivery networks (CDN). After all, a CDN is the developer of this free plugin. If you’re using a CDN to deliver your pages then it’s possible the CDN will pull the cached page generated by the Cache Enabler plugin. If the page isn’t cached by the Cache Enabler plugin it’s possible a CDN will pull and cache the page that hasn’t been cached yet (initiating the request required for the Cache Enabler plugin to create a cached page).
