Cache Manifest a WordPress site to be used offline

  • Hello,

I have looked at many tutorials and bits of advice on how to do this, even tried a couple of plugins.

Has anyone had any experience of doing this, is it even possible?

    I have added the:
    <html manifest="offline.appcache"> in the header

Uploaded my cache.manifest file to the root:
CACHE MANIFEST on the first line and stipulated what files I want cached (absolute urls).

    I have also added:

ExpiresByType text/cache-manifest "access plus 0 seconds"
    AddType text/cache-manifest .appcache

to my .htaccess file in the root.

I think this is all I need to do but I can’t get it to work.

Any input, past experience or advice would be appreciated.

    Many thanks for your time.

    Ali.

  • A slight update on this… I have got to the point that Firefox is asking me if I will allow the site to download to the cache, but it is downloading 0kb…

Something wrong with the cache.manifest file?
