 * I don’t know whether it’s out of the scope of this plugin or not, but the caching
   of gravatars would be a great “opt-in” option for blogs/websites with either
   a lot of comments or a lot of authors with large blog feeds.
 * I’ve seen in some cases the http requests out to secure.gravatar.com take either
   a long time, or just the sheer volume of calls (in the hundreds!).
 * I currently use FV Gravatar cache, which does a great job of caching comment
   gravatars, but it doesn’t take care of author gravatars, or widget gravatars
   and based on discussion with their developers, I don’t think it ever will.
 * Is this something that you’d be willing to consider adding as “Advanced” functionality?

 * Sorry, definitely not. 🙂
