    Hi,

When I enable caching and browse my site for a while, eventually the pages become cached for me. If I open my site in incognito mode in a new window, it’s as if I have to start over again. The pages opens a bit slower first, but then after I browse around the pages I have visited load fast.

I can see this when I run GTMetrix on the site as well. First time it will give me slow TTFB (2.9s), but when I run it again, it will be much faster (0.9s). Very inconsistent.

When I visit similar sites in my “industry” they always seem consistently cached, no matter if I visit regularly or through incognito mode.

Is something wrong or is it just me who is being ignorant?

    Many thanks

    Hello @danniee

Thank you for youj inquiry and I am happy to answer.
This is expected behavior. Once the cache is purged, the cache is re-created when the page is visited. The load time of the generated page depends if the page was visited from the browser, the location of the visitor, and the server (if not served from the CDN).
It also depends on how heavy the website is and the number of Images, JS and CSS files, and external resources that are loading on your website. And course, once all assets are cached in the user’s browser, the load time is much faster.
And also, when you visit the page from incognito, it’s like you are visiting for the first time and bypassing all the cache until reload.
    Thanks!
