  • You need to locate the correct php file that is used to display the quote at the top. It may be inside of index.php, page.php or some other custom file.

    Youll need to do a search for “by by” and remove this line, so its not displayed.

    I’m not familiar with Hueman so I can’t give more specific instruction.

    <?php if (ot_get_option(‘excerpt-length’) != ‘0’): ?>
    <div class=”entry excerpt”>
    <?php the_excerpt(); ?>
    </div><!–/.entry–>
    <?php endif; ?>

    That is all I could find relating to the excerpt and I can’t find “by by” anywhere in the php

    What file is that in? How are you creating these Quotes? A custom post type?

    It is in content.php. It does not only effect the quotes, it effects any type of post that does not have enough content to fill up the excerpt. http://dumbledrane.net as you can see.

    hmm that is very strange. Try taking a look in functions.php. Maybe there is a function detecting length, or using str_replace or something.

    Nope, that isn’t doing it. Hmmm. I’ll keep playing with the code and see if I can figure it out. Thanks for your help though (:

    I wouldn’t say I fixed it but I found a workaround. I replaced the_excerpt with the_content and then just placed the more tag in my posts to dictate my own excerpt.

    resolved.
