Buttons in admin dashboard aren't working!
-
I’m having a problem with buttons in the admin dashboard such as “save” buttons, “add to menu”, “ok” etc…
Clicking the buttons either has no result or shows an infinite spinning wheel.
Examples of three tasks:
1) Adding a menu item. [unable to complete task]
Under Appearance > Menus I choose a checkbox from the pages section and click Add to Menu.
A spinning wheel appears and never goes away. The menu item never appears on the right hand side for me to work with.2) Modifying the Permalink. [unable to complete via edit page, only works via quick edit]
When I try to edit the permalink and click “OK”. Nothing happens. I have tried to click “update” afterwards but the changes do not stick.
When editing the slug using the quick edit function, I click update and the spinning wheel never goes away again. The changes to the slug are saved but I can only see this after reloading the page.3) Modifying a widget. [able to complete task, but once again spinning wheel never goes away]
Under Appearance > Widgets I modify a widget on the right hand side and click save. The spinning wheel never goes away. When I reload the page I can see that my changes are saved. Some buttons do work. Such as the update button when editing a page. Create Menu and delete menu buttons also work.
It seems that buttons that cause a page refresh work, those that don’t cause a page refresh don’t work. Has anybody encountered this problem before? I have no idea where to start. I’m thinking I’ll need to go in and modify the database directly using mysql but this kind of defeats the purpose of wordpress.
