Support » Plugin: Inline Image Upload for BBPress » Buttons do not work

  • I click on the image upload button and can click to browse for an image without a problem but when I click “Ok”, “Cancel” or the “X” in the upper right nothing happens.

    bbPress 2.5.12
    Image Upload 1.1.14

  • Just to add to the mix, the Visual editor is not working either. When I enter text into the visual editor and submit I get an error that the content cannot be blank. If I use the text editor it works fine.

    Hi there,
Could you please provide a link to your forums so that I can take a look?

I’ve enabled the Image Upload plugin at http://lovelywitchesclub.com/forums

As you can see it is all just test posts for now to see if we can get it to do what we want.

When you click the image upload icon in the toolbar it seems to work – you can select a file and enter a description but none of the buttons work – ok, cancel or the x in the upper right.

Hopefully it’s just a simple fix and not a theme or plugin conflict.

Just tried deactivating all the plugins except bbPress, Image uploader, and MemberPress. Same issue.

Actually the only thing that works when I click the image upload icon in the browse for file button. It seems like the page locks up when I click the upload icon and I have to reload the page.

    Hi there,
I had a look at your website, and it appears that the problem may be due to duplicate versions of the jQuery library on your page. If you look at the source code of your website, you’ll see that both version 1.10.4 (from code.jquery.com) and version 1.12.4 (from your WordPress installation) are being loaded. Since the issue persisted after deactivating most of your plugins, my guess is that the older copy of jQuery is being loaded by your theme. Unfortunately, that means you’ll need to edit the theme to remove the code that loads the old jQuery, or (preferably) contact the theme’s developer once you’ve confirmed that it is indeed the theme loading it (and tested to ensure that our plugin works when the old jQuery is removed).

    Does your plugin load jQuery?

I can’t find any reference to 1.10.4 in the page source? I can find 1.12.4 though.

I think you’re right; I must have confused the jQuery UI script with jQuery. Unfortunately I’m not sure what is causing the issue, but I suspect it may be your theme. Is it possible to temporarily switch to one of the default WordPress themes (e.g. Twenty seventeen) to see if the error occurs then?

I’ll give it a try. Hopefully I don’t lose any of the customizations to the theme.
