This looks like a problem with the theme. What theme are you using?

BTW: Also note that the buttons automatically hide in desktop browsers after a few seconds and show again as soon as you move the mouse.

Ok, it seems you created some CSS rules for BUTTON elements. However, Lightbox with Photoswipe also uses BUTTON elements to display the controls.

Please check you CSS – you must not add rules which apply to BUTTON elements globally without specific selectors.
