    Hi there,

So I’ve had this issue recently with the Gutenberg editor whenever I try to link a button. It will either immediately add it’s own link to the link that I add. (I realize how crazy this sounds but hear me out..) One one of my buttons I want people to find my Facebook Page. Instead of using the link that I enter facebook.com/ebdesignagency this is what it does instead https://ebdesignagency.com/instagram-links/facebook.com/ebdesignagency. And it does that to almost every button I try to link.

I’ve tried deleting the buttons and redoing it to no avail. For instance, I’m completely unable to link to my appointment page. It immediately adds ebdesignagency.com/instagram-links to whatever link I add. It’s so frustrating! All of my plugins and everything are up to date. I’m using Kadence theme.

Anyone else encounter this and anyone have a solution? Thanks!

    Emily

No, that’s not crazy at all… it’s quite logical and easily explained.

When you enter an address like facebook.com/ebdesignagency, this is taken as a “relative” (or incomplete) address… and the address of the current path you’re on is added to it to make it “absolute” (or complete).

To prevent this, what you need to do is enter the full or absolute address, like:

    https://facebook.com/ebdesignagency
