Support » Plugin: Product Bundles - Bulk Discounts » Bundle of Subscriptions Displays Incorrect Recurring Price

With a bundle of optional subscription products, the applied bulk discount applies not only to the initial purchase, but also to the subsequent renewals.

However, when adding products to the bundle on the customer-facing product page, the price total shows the pre-discounted price crossed out with the correct discount…and then shows that the subsequent renewal will be the pre-discounted price.

    e.g. $30.00 $20.00 now, then $30.00 / year

    it should simply state:
    $30.00 $20.00 / year

The recurring total is correctly reflected within the cart at checkout–this only seems to happen on the product page where the user is configuring the product.

  • Hey there @ericboles,

Thank you for getting in touch!

Can you please clarify how you have set up your Product Bundle? Have you set up any Bulk Discount rules? If so, then how do they look like? Have you set up a discount for the Priced Individually Subscription product as well using this field: https://a.cl.ly/Jru1N2qW? Can you please share a link to the Product Bundle you are working on so that I can take a closer look at this?

    Looking forward to your reply!

    Cheers,

Hi, Jason. Thanks for your reply. Yes–I’ve setup bulk discount rules like so:

    2 – 3 | 10
    4 – 5 | 20

There are no other discounts setup using the field from your screenshot, nor are there other discounts setup in the bundled products themselves or any coupons being used. Unfortunately, the site is still local development, so I can’t share a link. However, the bundle is made up of simple and variable subscriptions. All of them are set as “optional” and “priced individually” within the bundle with a min, max and default quantity of 1. The regular price for the bundle itself is set as 0 as the bundle price ultimately comes from the optional bundled products that are selected.

As I mentioned, the total calculated cost displayed on the product page correctly shows the discount, but the javascript is then adding the “now, then <price without discount> / year” even though the discounted price is recurring. Prices in the cart/checkout show correctly–and the recurring charges are correct as well.

If it helps, the code that ultimately displays the price string is coming from the woocommerce-product-bundles plugin–Line 755 of class-wc-product-bundle.php (2020.12.10 – version 6.6.4). I’ve hacked that line as a temporary fix, but it’s certainly not the root cause.

    Thanks,
    Eric-

    Hey @ericboles,

Thank you for the additional details!

I set up a Product Bundle locally with optional Subscription items and Bulk Discounts and indeed noticed that Bulk Discounts did not apply in the single product page — however, they did apply in the cart.

I had a discussion with our Engineering team and they pointed out that Bulk Discounts does not currently support bundled Subscription products. That’s why Bulk Discounts do not apply in the single product page in this setup.

This is a limitation that we definitely need to document — thank you for getting in touch and bringing this to our attention!

Since this is the first request we receive for adding an integration between Bulk Discounts and WooCommerce Subscriptions, this is not yet a top priority. However, we’d be happy to take another look at this if we receive more requests in the future.

In case you have any other questions for Bulk Discounts, don’t hesitate to open a new thread!

    Hey @ericboles,

I wanted to inform you that we have created a new issue in our GitHub repository about adding compatibility with WooCommerce Subscriptions. You may track our progress on this at: https://github.com/somewherewarm/woocommerce-product-bundles-bulk-discounts/issues/21.

I will now mark this thread as resolved — feel free to open a new one if any other question for Bulk Discounts comes up.

That’s excellent, Jason. Thanks for adding that issue. Other than the incorrect price being displayed on the product page, the plugin is working very well for my purposes with bundled subscription products.

    Appreciate your help.

    Eric-
