    Your theme uses images (!) for bullets.

    Try:

    ul.job_listings li { background-image: none; }

    okay is there a way for me to show only the job title WITH a bullet and without other descriptors, lines, and gray back on hover to match my other widgets?

    Yeah, using more CSS. It's just styling of the list elements you need to change. border, background-color etc.

    I'll start you off with an example, but cannot provide all the CSS because I don't support customisations like this. This would remove the BG color and border:

    .widget ul.job_listings li.job_listing {
    border: 0 !important;
    background: #fff none !important;
    }
