  • It’s a tough plugin – no doubt. Within minutes of installing this plugin on my site, I was notified of an attempted intrusion. Good job!

Day 2: I try to log in to my own site (mind you, I did NOT choose to force resets on the passwords) and not only was I denied the ability to log in and forced to create a new PW … but NOTHING I have attempted as a new password is secure enough to be accepted.

I can’t log in to my own site!

The security part works great – the password part … not so much. I highly recommend staying away from this plugin until they add a “human friendly” option. The password requirements and enforcement is just too stringent.

AgilityJeff, thanks again for bringing this to my attention. For the record here, this attention resulted in me enhancing the error messaging on the password reset page. The improvement was released in Version 0.36.0.

Good luck on the future development of this plugin. WordPress is what it is because of the efforts of thousands of dedicated developers working hard to make the platform robust and secure.

    Keep at it Danial!

Same thing has happened to me. When I tried to get a new password, this message appears:
Please enter your username or email address. You will receive a link to create a new password via email.

    Username or E-mail:

ERROR: si-captcha.php plugin says captcha_library not found.

    ← Back to Mexicali MaryAnn

The ERROR prevents me from getting a new password. This may be a fault of the Login Security Plugin, or comes from a hack.

I am on version 0.39.0 and dead in the water.

    Hi Jbharding:

You’re having a problem with some CAPTCHA plugin. LSS doesn’t do CAPTCHA.

    Good luck,

You are correct. Eliminated CAPTCHA with filezilla, and now my system is up – using your great plugin. Thanks.
