Support » Plugin: Smush Image Compression and Optimization » Bulk killing my site

  • Resolved Magistar

I am trying out the plugin. It is now running in “Bulk” mode. Unfortunately this has made my website pretty much inaccessible.

    1) Is there a way to cancel the current opration (in my wp-admin window I can see new images being compelted)

    2) Can i limit the resources it uses for future attempts?

    Hi there @magistar,

    Hope you’re well today! 🙂

There’s not currently a way to cancel operations but Ww’re looking at various ways to improve the plugin, so I’ll pass these ideas along to the developers for further consideration.

Meanwhile, you can decrease the timeout duration at Settings > Media.

Would that maybe work for you?

Hi there. Thanks for caring :).

After 2 hours it did gave up and was 90% complete. I guess in future I can suspend the domain from directadmin. For now I have learned to never bulk smuhs from the bulk option.

I guess the plugin needs to be able to do batches. Like 10 per batch, x minute between batches.

For now I promoted myself to batch master by manually selecting a few images at the time in the media library and using the bulk function there :).

    Hi @magistar,

Awesome, great to see you got that worked by smushing images in batches.

I have forwarded your suggestions to the plugin developer so that it can be considered for future development.

Please advise if you have more questions.

    Have a great day!
