    Smush keeps hanging at various points during the bulk Smush process. The last time it stopped was 3.5 with 3/85 images optimized.

    @djquadrocks,

    Please check the browser console and debug.log for errors.

    Best regards,
    Anton

    I’m not seeing anything in debug.log but here’s the console –

    @djquadrocks,

    This means that there’s no meta data for the image. Smush will skip such files in the next update.

    Best regards,
    Anton

    Ok so until then it’ll just indefinitely hang in the middle of the smush?

    @djquadrocks,

    You don’t need to wait for it to finish. Just close it. Images without meta data will not be compressed in any case. You’d need to fix the image.

    In the above error – image with ID 644 should be re-uploaded (or fixed). There are multiple plugins that are able to fix the meta data automatically. Unfortunately, this often happens, when images are imported with tools that don’t use WordPress functionality to upload media.

    Best regards,
    Anton

    Thanks, I got it going. The only odd thing is that I always use the Media > Add to upload images.
