It is possible to optimize single galleries from the Manage Gallery (Galleries) page. Simply choose the galleries (or just one) you want to optimize, and choose Bulk Optimize from the drop-down list.

However, you probably won’t be able to do that either, since it sounds like there may be another javascript conflict. Sometime in the next few days, I’ll be pushing out a release that attempts to prevent these conflicts. In the meantime, we can try to track down what plugin is causing issues. What version of NextGEN are you using, and what other plugins do you have installed?

Tried to optimize a single gallery, but Bulk Optimize is not in my drop-down list (maybe because I’m using NGG in German?).

Just to give you an update: I deactivated all plugins except EWWW and NGG, still no link showing up to optimize all images of a single NGGallery.

Try the latest, and let me know how it works.

Nope, still telling me that there’s only 1 image in my NextGEN Galleries. And still no Bulk Optimize entry in the drop down menu of a single gallery.

I found out what causes the issue. It is the German translation file. If I remove the .mo and .po file then NGG is in English and the Bulk Optimize links show up!

Hope this helps to find a workaround for a future version!

That’s a huge pointer in the right direction. I’ll see what I can come up with.

Ok, can you do this for me?

Find the HTML code for the drop-down menu on the Manage Gallery page for NextGEN. It should look something like this:

    <select name="bulkaction" id="bulkaction">

If you are using Chrome, you can just right-click on the drop-down menu, and click ‘Inspect Element’.

The ‘name’ and/or ‘id’ will probably be different (since you’re using WP in German). Can you paste that section for me?

scratch that, the quirk is somewhere else, I’m looking into it

Ok, turns out the NextGEN developers localized the page hook (weird). The ‘dev’ version has the fix for the menu, probably need to look at the issue with only 1 image being detected. Probably need to check for localized versions of the Manage Gallery pages and such.

    (@nosilver4u)

Ok, so localizing all the NextGEN hooks causes more issues than I expected. The bulk optimize works now with the German translation activated (and presumably with any other translation too).

I’ll release a new version today or tomorrow with the fix, but you can download the ‘dev’ version to get the latest stuff yourself. All you actually need to update is the nextgen-integration.php file.

    Perfect! Works like a charme.

Thanks again for all your efforts.
