Bulk item flat rates?

    I’m trying to setup flat rate shipping for 2 kinds of products:

    Product #1
    $5 for 1 item
    $12 for up to 4 items
    $18 for 4+ items

    Product #2:
    $10 for 1 item
    $18 for 2+ items

    I see the option for addon rates but these costs should be calculated automatically. How can I accomplish this?

    Just saw that this is possible with the Table Rate Shipping extension – for $199. Wow, this is some free plugin. Anyway to do it without shelling out $199? It seems grossly excessive for a simple feature.
