    Hi,
I’m trying to change the uploaded on date for multiple images to a specific date in the past. I select multiple images and go to the bulk edit screen. Whatever I enter in the “Uploaded on” field I always get the following error message:

“An ajax.fail error has occurred. Please reload the page and try again. (error), jqXHR( 500, Internal Server Error, )”

I have tried with the following entries:

    2019-02-13
    13-02-2019
    02-13-2019
    2019/02/13
    13/02/2019
    02/13/2019
    template: 20190213
    template: today

Nothing worked, am I doing something wrong?

    Thanks

Thanks for your report. I regret the trouble you are having with the MLA Bulk Edit function.

I have just run a quick test on my own system and did not have any problems changing the “Uploaded on” date, using a value of “2019-02-13” in the text box.

It would be helpful to know more about your issue:

    1. Have you tried using the “Quick Edit” rollover action to change the date for a specific item?
    2. Have you tried changing a field other than the Uploaded on date?
    3. How many items did you select? Have you tried Bulk Edit for just one item?

You might also try increasing the memory available to WordPress, as explained in this earlier topic:

An ajax.fail error has occurred. What can I do?

I will leave this topic unresolved until I hear back from you. Any additional information you can provide will be helpful.

I’ve looked at the MLA code that processes Bulk Edit changes to the Uploaded on date. It does use some PHP functions that could cause problems on some sites. It would be helpful to know what PHP version your site’s server is running.

Also, there might be information in the site’s error log that would shed light on the problem. You can view the error log by navigating to the Settings/Media Library Assistant Debug tab Are there messages in the log that are related to your issue?

Thanks for any information you can provide.

I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it if there’s anything else I can do regarding your issue.

Thanks for your report and for adding the answers to the questions I posed in my earlier post. It would be helpful if you try to change some other field with a bulk edit, just to narrow the problem down to the date field.

Since you have access to the error log, it would be great if you can activate some MLA logging and re-run your test. Navigate to the Settings/Media Library Assistant Debug tab and set the MLA Reporting value to 3, then click “Save Changes” to record the new setting. With logging active, Bulk Edit two items, changing the “Uploaded on” field. Then, go back to the Debug tab and post the content of the error log. If the log is too big to post, contact me at my web site and I will give you instructions for sending the log file.

    Thanks for your help.
