I think it would be great if WordPress had a developer’s task list and notes section by default in the WordPress dashboard. It seems most of the plugins for this have not been kept up to date since the release of WordPress 5.0

There’s no plans to implement a notepad-style feature like this, and I suspect we won’t be entertaining the thought in the future either, as it sounds like a special feature a minority of users would have a use for.

That said, although a plugin may not have been updated in a while, this does not mean they no longer work, many plugins just keep working because they have a simple format that doesn’t require a lot of upkeep 🙂

Does “Hah!” mean you agree or disagree?

Anyhow, it’s been 10 months since an upgrade for lh-dashboard-notes, 12 months for both dashboard-sticky-notes and wp-dashboards-notes and none have been tested for WordPress 5 or above. Only plugin-notes-plus has been updated recently (2 months ago) and has been tested up to WordPress 4.9.9 as well.

I do keep notes off-site for work in progress, but it would be very convenient to not need to open up a document to see where we are up to in the works…

It means I disagree. Things like this do not need very many updates. Within the last two years is fine, and that’s what the search filters out.

Hey thanks for the plugins notes link! so tired of doing screenshots with ps text 🙂
