build a user platform

    Hi
    Can anyone tell me how i can build a user’s platform with WordPress.
    What plugins do i need etc.,etc.

    Example:
    Students must login onto a site where they can choose a mentor ( all mentors have a bio ) to contact..

    I appreciate all the help i can get
