• hi. my website recently broke and the folk at bluehost helped me get it back up – said there was a problem with plugins. now all the plugins on my site have been removed and i can’t download them again, nor can i change my theme (there are other issues here, i keep getting a bug saying

    W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /home1/zahrahan/public_html/wp-content/advanced-cache.php.

    Can someone help me out here please? thanks!

  • Delete the said file from your ftp. If same folder has db.php or object-cache.php, then you’ll have to delete those too.

    Also check your wp-config.php file and make sure following lines are not there.
    /** Enable W3 Total Cache */
    define(‘WP_CACHE’, true); // Added by W3 Total Cache

    You might also want to remove any rules added in your htaccess file by W3.

    BTW this plugin has problem with google cloud – deployment manager type sites. We recently moved to google cloud and setup wordpress through their deployment manager. installed all plugins that we used earlier. Apache started giving seg fault errors. It goes offf once i deactivated this plugin.

    Not sure whether its the whole plugin or one of the options
